Registering for FAA MyAccess Site Access

The MyAccess External User Registration screen contains the informational message “Please do not proceed if you are a credentialed federal employee or contractor” at the top of the screen and also provides links for MyAccess process information (the “How we protect your privacy” and “Registration Help” links) in the screen banner.  The screen’s body area contains several data entry fields and a read-only display field indicating that the “MyAccess registration initiated by the following application” and the value “Economic Authority and Insurance Management System (eAIM)”.

To Register of Use of the FAA MyAccess Site:

  1. Using the MyAccess External User Registration screen, enter data for the following fields:

    First Name (Required):  Given name.

    Last Name (Required):  Family or sur name.

    Suffix:  Use if needed to indicate additional name components (such as “Jr.” (Junior)).

    Email Address (Required):  Electronic mail address. 

    Note: This is the Email Address that you use to log into the eAIM system and is used by the system to uniquely identify you as a user).

  1. Select an option to verify your identity (“ID option”) using one of the radio buttons provided:

    1. Last 4 digits of your SSN radio button (Note: Selected by default).

    2. Capture Government Issued ID document using mobile phone.

  1. Click the check box labeled “I’m not a robot” (and, if required, follow the on-screen instructions to respond to the “not a robot” validation requirements).

  2. Click Submit button.

The system displays an on-screen “Processing” message at the bottom of the screen and then displays the MyAccess Confirm screen with information describing the process and allowing you to continue (and/or enter additional data, depending on the ID option that you selected).

Refer to either “Last 4 digits of your SSN Option Procedures” or “Capture Government-Issued ID Procedures” below for ID option-specific procedures.

 

  1. ID Option Procedures: Use the applicable ID Option procedures to continue:

    1. Last 4 digits of your SSN Option Procedures:  If you selected the “Last 4 digits of your SSN” option on the previous screen:

      1. Review the displayed information.

      2. Click the Confirm button.The system briefly displays three large circles over the screen as a processing indicator and then displays the MyAccess Name, Address, and Email screen.  The screen’s Full Name field is presented as display only and pre-populated with partial data as entered from the previous screen).

      3. Use the screen’s Residential Address field to enter data for your residence’s physical (mailing/street) address:

        1. Using Auto-complete: To enter your residential mailing address using the screen’s auto-complete search box function:

          1. Click the field and begin to enter your residential mailing address using the screen’s auto-complete search box function.

            As you type the characters of the address, the screen displays a search box below the field, and, as you continue typing characters, the autocomplete functions updates the search box to contain possible matching addresses.

          2. Continue to type address characters until the search displays your exact address.

            When you select the value in the autocomplete search box, the screen retains that value in the residential address field and displays two links below the field, allowing you to clear the field and retry the autocomplete process (“Edit” link) or manually change the address (“Add Apt/Suite/P.O Box #” link) using the Add Apt/Suite/P.O Box # displayed after clicking the link.

        2. Using Manual Data Entry: To manually enter your residential mailing address:

          1. Click the “Enter address manually” link, located below the Residential mailing address field.

            The screen is refreshed to display the Address data fields.  The “Show autocomplete search box” link is displayed below the Residential Address label, allowing you to abort the manual process and return to the original screen with the autocomplete search box.

          2. Enter data for the following fields:

            Street Number (Required):  Number portion of the mailing address’s street.

            Street:  Street Name (Required).

            Apt/Suite/P.O Box #:  Use if needed to indicate apartment (“Apt”) or Post Office (“P.O.”) box.

            City (Required):  The city name of the mailing address.

            State/Province/Region list box (Required):  U.S. state or province/region of company residence.

            Zip Code (Required):  Postal zone code of the mailing address.

          3. Use the screen’s remaining fields to continue entering your data:

            Mobile phone:  Use your format Country Code (+N) and enter the number if format NNN-NNN-NNNN) (Required).

            Date of Birth:  Enter using the format “MM/DD/YYYY” (Required).

            Last 4 Social Security Number (Required):  The last for digits of your social security number, which is used to uniquely identify you.

        3. Click the Confirm Information button.The system displays the MyAccess PIN screen in PIN Delivery Mode.  Refer to procedure “MyAccess PIN Procedures” to continue.

           

    2. Capture Government-Issued ID Option Procedures:  If you selected the “Capture Government Issued ID document using mobile phone” option on the previous screen:

      1. Review the displayed information.

      2. Use the Country list box to select your country is not “United States” (Note: “United States” is displayed by default).

      3. Click the Confirm Information button.

        The system briefly displays three large circles over the screen as a processing indicator and then display the MyAccess Check Government Issued ID screen.

      4. Use the Type of ID list box to select the type of ID that you want to use.

      5. Click the Confirm button.

        The system displays an on-screen “Processing” message at the bottom of the screen and the displays the MyAccess Confirm screen with information describing the process and allowing you to confirm and continue the process.

        The system briefly displays three large circles over the screen as a processing indicator and then displays the MyAccess Text Message for ID Picture screen.  The screen indicates the mobile phone steps required for you to complete the ID Picture process and continue on subsequent MyAccess screens.

        Note:  As indicated on the screen, “do not close this browser session until identity verification process completes”.

      6. Enter your cell phone number in the Mobile Phone field (in format N-NNN-NNN-NNNN).

      7. Click the Continue on Mobile button.

        The system briefly displays three large circles over the screen as a processing indicator and then displays the MyAccess Waiting for ID Pictures screen, containing instructions and the “Waiting…” message.  MyAccess also sends your cell phone the text message with the text “Click the URL below to capture documents” and a unique URL for your ID Picture process.

      8. On your cell phone, click the link and use the displayed cell phone screen to take pictures of your IDs.

      9. When you have completed the cell phone picture upload process, the MyAccess Waiting for ID Pictures screen is updated to indicate the successful upload of the ID pictures.

      10. Click the Confirm Information button.

        The system displays the MyAccess PIN screen in PIN Delivery Mode.  Refer to procedure step “MyAccess PIN Procedures” to continue.

         

  1. MyAccess PIN Procedures (for temporary personal identification number (PIN) use):

    Use the MyAccess PIN screen’s initial PIN Delivery mode display to enter your data and contact preference:

    1. Enter your Mobile phone number.

    2. Select your PIN Delivery Preference using one of the two displayed radio buttons:

      1. SMS (cell phone).

      2. Voice (cell phone and land line).

    3. Click the Confirm Information button to continue with the process as you indicated with your selected PIN delivery preference.

      The MyAccess PIN screen is refreshed to display in PIN Entry mode.  The system sends you a temporary personal identification number (PIN) using the preferred delivery method you selected

    4. Once you receive your PIN message, make note of the value.

    5. Return to the MyAccess PIN screen’s which is now in PIN Entry mode.

    6. Use the screen’s PIN Entry mode to continue the process:

      All of the screen fields and controls that were previously active are now deactivated, and the screen now displays the PIN field (displaying text “Enter PIN sent to Mobile”):

      1. Enter the temporary PIN into the PIN field.

      2. Click the Confirm Information button.

The system displays “Verifying” on-screen message and then displays the final MyAccess External User Registration screen with the “Successfully initiated account registration” message.
