Activating Your FAA MyAccess Account and Performing Security Setup

To Activate your FAA MyAccess Account:

  1. Locate the email message with the subject “Activate your FAA MyAccess Account!” sent during the registration process and open the email.

  1. Click the email’s Activate MyAccess Account link, which is displayed as a button within the message’s body.

The system opens the FAA MyAccess site within a new browser window and displays the initial FAA MyAccess Set Up Security Methods screen.  The screen displays the email address being registered and indicates that Password setup is required.  The screen displays the Password field group’s Set up button toward the bottom of the screen.

  1. Click the screen’s Password | Set up button.

The system displays the FAA MyAccess Security Set Up Password screen.

  1. Create your new FAA MyAccess password using the displayed fields, making sure your chosen password meets the password requirements as displayed on the screen:

    1. Enter a password value.

    2. Re-enter the password value.

Note:  This is the password that you use to log into the eAIM system.

  1. Click the Next button.

The system displays the FAA MyAccess Set Up Security Methods screen.

The eAIM system uses two-factor authentication (commonly called “2FA”) to provide user authorization and enforce security through one of three authentication methods/devices.

  1. Select one of the available authentication methods/devices to serve as your preferred method, using the descriptions displayed on the screen to make your decision.  The available authentication methods/devices include the following:

    • Google Authenticator:  Installed on your mobile/cell phone, this phone application (“app”) generates and provides a temporary passcode that will be recognized by MyAccess and allow you to sign-in to the eAIM system.

    • Okta Verify:  Installed on your mobile/cell phone, this authenticator app is used to prove your identity when signing-in to the eAIM system.

    • Security Key or Biometric Authenticator:  The FAA MyAccess site supports use of a security key or biometric authenticator device to authenticate users when signing-in to the eAIM system.

  2. Click the Set up button for the chosen authentication method.

The system opens the initial screen for the selected 2FA authentication method, allowing you to perform the setup process.  Note: While these details are not currently within the scope of this document, the following graphics provide sample screens for the initial screen displayed during the set up process for each authentication method.

After you have completed the setup process, the system auto-generates and sends you an email message confirming that you have completed the MyAccess security enrollment process.

Note:  This concludes the MyAccess registration and security/authentication setup processes.
